Traceability Project Feasibility Report
Posted on Thursday, May 6, 2021
With the proposed amendments to the federal Health of Animals Act Regulations requiring all livestock to be accompanied with a movement document, LIS is looking at the impact the new federal regulations will have on Alberta producers, the use of the Alberta Livestock Manifest as the federal movement document in Alberta and whether LIS should be empowered to collect movement information for producers and transmit same to CCIA.
The LIS Traceability Feasibility Study Report #1 sets out the results of LIS’ initial consultation with the cattle, sheep and goat industries and the results of its livestock market project to test the collection of the federal movement information off the Alberta Livestock Manifest.
